Ever notice how the really big stars only have one name? Sting. Cher. Fish. Yes, Fish… am I the only fan of early Marillion? Anyway, in the ranks of comedy, the giant with one name is one everyone recognizes – Sinbad. For more than 30 years, Sinbad has been cracking up audiences on TV, the big screen, and during his unfiltered marathon evenings of live comedy filled with stories from everyone he meets, everything he’s seen, and everything he’s done.
In the nineties he became a household name, with his towering on-stage presence, his colorful outfits, his family-friendly and hilarious comedy, and his constant presence on HBO specials (5 in 8 years!), movies (The Houseguest, First Kid, and many others), and his role in making the early days of Comedy Central a big success. In the years since he’s kept up the comedy, while venturing into other areas such as doing voice overs for cartoons and even starting his own funk band as his alter ego Memphis Red.
But it all comes back to his stand-up routines in the end, and it all comes down to Friday, October 19th at the Win-River.
Sinbad doesn’t write his material; he relives it as he remembers it, in hilariously glorious fashion. Comedy Central ranks Sinbad as one of the 100 greatest stand up comedians of all time, and we’re in full agreement with them. If you have a funny bone, and we all do, you’ll want to come out to the Win-River this Friday to get it tickled by Sinbad.
Tickets start at just $20. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show itself starts at 7:30 pm. You must be 21 or over to attend this show.
Don’t miss this laugh-fest with the hilarious Sinbad, Friday, October 19 at Win-River Resort & Casino. Tickets can be purchased online here or at the River Club, or call 530-243-3377 ext 1354.
